What is Sold at the Market
Because Laredo Main Street has established a Certified Farmers Market, there are a few rules about what can be sold at the market.
What is allowed:
*Produce
-fruits and veggies grown in Texas
*Herbs
*Plants
-with a nursery license
-Class M Permit
*Baked Goods
-incorporate a fruit, vegetable, nut, herb, or specialty bread
-healthy recipe
-baked in a certified kitchen, or prepared on site
-$20 food handler's permit from Health Department (795-4904)
*Value added goods like cheese, olive oil, honey, jam, etc.
-must be pre-approved by Farmers Market Advisory Committee
-produced in Texas
*Handmade Garden Items or Items inspired by Nature
What is prohibited:
*Crafts
*Greasy or non-healthy food items
*Paper Crafts
*Items for Re-sale
*Manufactured Franchise Items
*Candies
*Clothing
*Tupperwear
*Political Flyers
*Lewd or Obscene Items
*Plants grown without a nursery license
